Miss Sally Lynch was visiting friends and relatives here last week.

Mr. Vince Gilmer was visiting friends and relatives in Bristol last week.

Mr. T. B. Wilson attended the meeting of the normal board at Radford last week.

Mr. H. Bausell was visiting in Bluefield last week, and incidentally taking in the show.

S. B. Quillen, who was in Wise and Dickenson counties last week, has returned to his home here.

Mrs. Walter Alderson has been sick for some time, and it is feared that she has contracted typhoid fever.

Arthur Griffith, of Honaker, was here last week to look after some legal matters in which he was interested.

Rev. Mr. Cartright is attending the convention of the Holston conference at Morristown, Tenn., this week.

H. L. Kidd, who was called to Bluefield in connection with some legal matters last week, has returned home.

Misses Wille Shoemaker and Janie Finnie, who have been visiting in abingdon and attending the fair there, returned to their homes here last week.

Mr. Deskins, who has charge of the Clinchview Hotel here has moved back to his home at Cleveland, and the charge of the hotel has been assumed by Mr. Charles Banner.

The board of supervisors was in session the last week. In addition to the ordinary routine matters transacted they took up the matter of road building in the county, and some important matters in that connection were attended to.
