RUSSELL BOY CAUGHT HERE

Clint Farmer, 15 Years Old - Arrested By Lawyer Bruce Johnson.

Attorney Bruce Johnson, of Honaker, played the part of detective on passenger train No. 6 Wednesday night, when he arrested near Raven, Clint Farmer, a fifteen year old boy, who was charged with feloniously assaulting Howard Fletcher, cattle buyer for H. C. Stuart, in the store of the Elk Garden Mercantile Company, at Elk Garden, Russell county, Tuesday. Farmer was leaving the county and State, when arrested on the train by Mr. Johnson.

The difficulty is said to have arisen between the boy and Fletcher over a settlement for work done by the boy, when the boy, with a pound weight taken from the scales in the store, threw it at Fletcher and struck him just above the left eye, bringing blood, and causing a painful and ugly wound. After the difficulty Farmer fled, but the telephone was brought into use, and officers in all parts of the county were on the lookout for him.

Lawyer Johnson was accompanied to Tazewell by Miss Cora Johnson, and the trio, with Will Farmer, a brother of the prisoner, left on the early train yesterday morning for Elk Garden, while the boy will be given a Magistrate's trial, and doubtless sent to the grand jury.
