BIG FIRE IN RUSSELL TOWN

Store House, Offices and Residences Burned to Ground Wednesday Night. Supposed Men Who Robbed the Tazewell P. O.

News reached town late yesterday afternoon that Lebanon, county seat of Russell county, had been visited by a disastrous fire. Burglars entered the store and blew open the safe of the C M. Jenks Mercantile Co. The explosion, in some way, ignited the building and it burned to the ground. The file residences of J. C. Gent and W. E. Burns were also burned. The law offices of B. T. Wilson, H. A. Routh, W. E. Burns and J. C. Gent were in the burned buildings. The incendiaries are supposed to be the same gang who operated in this section last Monday morning. The total loss is about 60,000. The burned buildings were insured with local insurance agents for one-third value.
