Man Nearly 100 Asks For Pension

Richmond, Sept. 13. Application for a Confederate pension was today received by John H. Johnson, chief pension clerk the state auditor's office, from Jessee Browning, of Meadow View, Washington county, who lacks but a few months of being 100 years of age.

Mr. Browning says that heretofore he has refrained from applying for a pension because he had been able to care for himself. He says that he served in the Virginia Light Artillery.
